Meet Old Fort, a new CluckFront map. It’s still in development, but closed alpha playtesters can already jump in and try it out.

A fort at the center of the action

Old Fort stands on an island in the middle of a river. Four bridges connect the banks to the fortress. Pick your way in and plan your way out. The map has four spawn and respawn points.

The Old Fort map layout

This layout is already used on the in-game map selection screen. It shows the central fort, the bridges, four player spawn points, and chests for depositing loot.

One map, three modes

Old Fort supports three game modes:

  • Loot Race.
  • Bounty Hunt.
  • Last Survivor.

Already playable in closed alpha

Old Fort is still in development, so its visuals and gameplay may change. It’s already playable in the CluckFront closed alpha playtest. Follow our progress on Telegram and Discord.

THREE MAPS. THREE MODES.

Gear up.
Ruffle feathers.

Three maps, three modes, and chickens turning crops into ammo. Find weapons on the map and fight players and bots. In Loot Race, be the first to bank the required number of seeds. In Bounty Hunt, reach the kill target first. In Last Survivor, be the last chicken standing.

Short clips from current playtests. The game is still evolving.

YOUR LOADOUT IS OUT THERE

Popcorn. Peas.
And heavy artillery.

Popcorn Shooter

Fires heated corn. That’s right: popcorn. You can find it near the spawn points, and bots carry it too.

Peashooter playtest footage
02

Peashooter

Fires peas. One of the two weapons found near the spawn points. You’ll have to find it on the map; there’s no starting loadout.

Egg Mortar playtest footage
03

Egg Mortar

A mortar-style weapon found inside the fortress. Take one from a fallen bot or find it on one of the fort’s floors. Bots armed with Egg Mortars bombard targets within range.

Thermonuclear explosion effect test
04

Thermonuclear Barrel

A rare find with a huge blast radius. Dangerous to chickens and fortresses alike: three barrels are enough to bring the fort down.

What is CluckFront?

A top-down PvP looter shooter where mutant chickens fight over seeds and the best positions. Crops are ammo, homemade guns do the talking, and the farm is a battlefield. The colorful look comes with tense firefights, tactical choices, and loot you can lose.

How can I win?

When creating a CluckFront match, you can choose one of three victory conditions on any map:

  • Loot Race: be the first to deposit the required number of seeds in the chests.
  • Bounty Hunt: be the first to reach the target number of kills.
  • Last Survivor: be the last chicken standing.

All three victory conditions are already available on every map in the alpha.

How do I secure my loot?

Collect seeds and bring them to the chests on the map. In Loot Race, only deposited seeds count toward victory. Risk one big haul or make several smaller runs. Just don’t let a rival knock the stuffing—and the seeds—out of you on the way back.

Can I play in teams and over LAN?

Full online multiplayer is already available in the closed alpha playtest. The first demo is also planned to include LAN support and formats such as 1v1, 2v2, four-player free-for-all, and 4v4. The public demo is not available yet.

What can I choose before a match?

Choose your class and customize your chicken before the match. Each class has its own stats. Weapons are found on the map, so you’ll need to improvise once the shooting starts.

What matters in combat?

Take the high ground, flush opponents out of cover, and fall back when a fight goes south. The Egg Mortar makes good use of a height advantage, and an explosive barrel can settle an argument over a position. Your route and timing matter as much as your weapon.

How do seed stakes work?

In higher-stakes matches, you can wager seeds saved in your barn from earlier matches. Everyone’s stake goes into a shared pot, and that pot is up for grabs.

What do the trailer and screenshots show?

An early playtest on the ruined fort map, featuring the Peashooter, Popcorn Shooter, and explosive barrels. The game is still in development, so this footage shows neither the final version nor everything planned for the first demo.

Which weapons are planned for the first demo?

Five weapons are planned:

  • Peashooter.
  • Popcorn Shooter.
  • Carrot Rocket Launcher.
  • Peanut Shotgun.
  • Rice Machine Gun.

An explosive barrel is also planned. That’s the intended demo lineup; current playtest footage shows only part of the arsenal.

What maps and customization are planned for the demo?

Three maps are planned for the first demo:

  • The ruined fort — the Old Fort map.
  • A compact farm arena.
  • A multilevel grain silo with fights across its upper and lower floors.

We also plan to add new skins for your chicken fighter. The maps and demo content are still in development.

Can I download the demo? When will it launch?

The public demo isn’t available yet. We plan to release the first demo in the coming months and will announce the exact date separately. The current screenshots and footage show playtests of the game’s closed alpha build.

Where can I follow demo development?
